Remember the RH 7.2 install problem where if you had an Adaptec 7899 controller using the aic7xxx driver, the install would freeze at the near beginning after loading the driver and never to return. Well it seems to be back with RH9.0.
I'm upgrading from RH7.1 to RH9.0, have a Penguin, single rack unit, dual cpu, with a SCSI 7899 controller. Yes I tried the remedies from the past. I booted with 'expert noprobe', tried loading the new drivers from both Adaptec and freebsd, still it could not properly see the drives. Thus unlike the previous issue with 7.2 where it was loading both aic7xxx and aic7xxx_mod, I've just loaded the one and still get the frozen blue screen.
Anyone else dealing with this?, any insightful hints??
