[ale] remote X problems.

When I attempt to launch an X application, I get the following:

X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication.
X connection to localhost:11.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown).

I can find no log message that tells me anything helpful.  Can someone point 
me in the right direction?  Below shows my setup.  I am sitting at machine T, 
logged into P via KDM.  I then use ssh to access machine O, where I cannot 
launchan X application.

T ----via KDM----  P  ----ssh -X----O
