Hmm...

1. If you want access to the internet from the laptop, just plug in a 
cell card and go?

2. If you want a mapping package that already has all of that data in 
it, how big do you think that install would be? The current TIGER/line 
files are 7CD's. Better have some extra room on that laptop, and a 
pretty optimized db search engine.... and those 7CD's, of course, only 
have physical locations. No directions, no pathing for things like 
on-ramps and navigating road-spaghetti... so, maybe double or triple 
it? It might be fun to have... heh.
