I used to be opposed to the KDE license, so I'd try to use Gnome and always
got annoyed by it. It just seemed klunky and slow. So I stayed with fvwm
for years. Finally, around KDE 2.1 I tried KDE and it was awesome. Now I
use it all the time.
KDE has good defaults, lots of configurability, GUI control over everything
I want, excellent integration, and is very intuitive. I really like the
many speedups for querying ggogle, rpmfind, etc. It is easy to extend so
I can now query our local bugzilla database.
