hey im debating building a PVR or low power web server. since servers are
allways on i would obviously choose a secure linux like debian for all
around dependability but im wondering if anyone might have built a low
power server before? like one with a corusoe chip or something. the less
juice it eats the better! ive got a 3 gig laptop hd that will probably be
the best option power wise for storage. ill need an adapter tho shouldnt
be an issue. anyways i got the storage so whats the other recommendations?
a side note on the pvr, if i had a deticated hardware card for
encoding/decoding how much of a cpu do you think i would need? i believe
it was 1.2? ghz per stream for software codecs how much per hardware? just
enough for os?
